75 Years of Independence

Several decades after its independence in 1947 India celebrates its 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi listed 5 themes around which the celebrations of the 75th Independence Day will revolve- Freedom Struggle, Ideas at 75, Achievements at 75, Actions at 75, and Resolve at 75. While addressing the first meeting of the national committee with Governors, Chief Ministers, and prominent artists, among others, Modi said that this anniversary should be celebrated with the spirit of the freedom movement and a tribute to martyrs being highlighted.

Adding to this PM Modi said, “There is hardly any place or corner in the country that does not have any son or daughter who sacrificed their lives for the nation. When these sacrifices and their stories will come to light, these will be a source of great inspiration”. He emphasized that our nation should know the stories of the “lesser-known” freedom fighters, and the contributions of different sections of society should also be brought in the limelight.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and the freedom fighter Prime Minister remarked “There is hardly any place or corner in the country that does not have any son or daughter who sacrificed their lives for the nation. When these sacrifices and their stories will come to light, these will be a source of great inspiration”. Also, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the suggestions made by the member would be looked into.
