Government’s Plan for Parliament Monsoon Session 2021

On Monday, a list of government business was released which is expected to be taken up by the central government during the monsoon session of 17th Lok Sabha commencing from 19th July.

The following are some of the bills that will be proposed for consideration and passing in the 2021 Monsoon Session:

Tribunal Reforms (Rationalisation and Condition of Service) Bill, 2021

This bill was introduced earlier during the Budget Session 2021 on 13th February by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The bill is put in order to dismiss certain appellate bodies and their functions will be transferred to other existing judicial bodies.

DNA Technology (Use and Application) Regulation Bill, 2019

This bill seeks to regulate the use of DNA technology to establishing the identity of certain people.

Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill, 2020

 The bill is structured to regulate ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) Services in India by regulation of ART clinics and banks.

Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2019

This bill will update the definition of children for the purpose of the Senior Citizens Act, 2007 by including step-children, adoptive children, children-in-law, and legal guardians of minor children in it.

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2021

This bill seeks to form a pre-packaged insolvency resolution process for small or medium enterprises known as corporate debtors under the MSME Development Act, 2006.
